KateeSackhoff.com Ask Katee – Part Eight Transcription by Elizabeth White Katee, Did you get to take home anything from Battlestar Galactica after the show was finished? Was there anything you didn’t get to take home that you wish you could have? You are awesome. - Taylor Katee: Um, sorry, I’m just texting Seth Green. 'My fans want a Bitch Puddin' spin off'. Alright, anyway... I stole my flight suit. I put it in a cooler and I walked out the door. I asked for my helmet; I have since received a helmet that is not my helmet and I’m in the process of trying to get them to switch them out because I don’t want someone else’s helmet. They gave me Kat’s helmet and I don’t want Kat’s F'in helmet. I want Starbuck’s helmet, which they probably already sold at auction and that's why they can’t get it back and I’m pissed. What else did I take? I took my gun belt. I think that’s all I took. But, um yeah, I think that’s all I took. You know, it's this weird thing when you spend six years playing a character on a tv show, that you’re not allowed to take what is that character’s home with you. It's odd, because it's... you know, I mean -- Starbuck, I created her and then obviously the writers and the producers created her for the fans, but she was me. Starbuck’s childhood photo album that had all my personal pictures in it, they wanted to auction it off, and I had a really hard time with that because that wasn’t -- that’s not Starbuck. Those are my personal pictures from first grade to my senior year in high school and it was like, that’s not right to auction that off. So I kind of in a sense felt that way about Starbuck’s stuff. I was like this is my stuff, you know. So I took as much of it as I could stuff into a duffle bag and then begged for the rest of it. So, I should be getting my own personal flight helmet soon, if not, Luciana's gonna' get a helmet because I don’t want this one, so… Or I’ll auction it off on my website for charity or something. Hi Katee! Thank you so much for doing this, it really means a lot! If you could do absolutely anything you want right now (as an actress of course), what would you do? Best, Sarah Katee: I think I’m doing it. Honestly, I do. There are things that I would love to do. There’s a script that Will Smith’s company has right now called “Paper Wings” that I’ve been fighting to get for the last couple years. It’s slipped around from different producers but it's now in Will Smith’s lap. It’s about a country singer who falls in love with a rodeo cowboy, so come on, it’s perfect for me. You know so there are things like that that I would just love to do. There’s a movie called “Goodnight Moon” I want to do and they’re doing a remake of “The Mechanic” right now that I really want to do. So, you know there’s things I want to do but as far as what I would do right now in this moment, I’m doin' it. I’m having such a phenomenal time on 24. I love working with Freddie Prince Jr, he’s a fantastic human being and such a fun person to work with. You know, I love the producers and I love going to work everyday on the show. So I’m doing what I want to be doing which I think is so rare, so, I’m so lucky. I loved Bionic Woman and was really bummed when it got cancelled. What was the funnest part of playing Sarah Corvus? -Alan Katee: I loved Sarah Corvus. That was by far the most fun character I’ve had to play yet because she was crazy. You know, Starbuck was just a little out of her mind and a little nuts because she was so emotional and so fuc- F'd up, excuse me. But Sarah Corvus was CRAZY because the implants in her head were making her insane. So, to play someone that’s insane is so much fun because you can do anything you want to do. I loved Sarah Corvus. That scene with Will Yun Lee when she says “tell me that you love me” and when she jumps at him in the air was one of the coolest things I’ve ever gotten to do because it was one of the first times as an actor where I gave something -- not something, because I give scenes everything I’ve got, but something out of my comfort zone. Like as an actor there are moments where you constantly, you know, take one step further out of your comfort zone and that was weird for me because I’ve never acted weird before. And Sarah Corvus, that was a moment where she was weird. Like she was, she was killing people. She was crazy. And I just kind of went with it and it was such a cool moment that I cherish that moment; it was awesome. And I think that’s when I developed a little crush on Will Yun Lee was in that scene. You know what’s interesting too is, I think that that character was, so could have been a spin off. Like she needed her own show, Sarah Corvus did. I think that you will see that character again, it will just be called something else because it was so under utilized that I’m probably going to play that exact character again and it’ll probably just be in a movie someday. Because I’m not done with that character; she was awesome!
